Project Management
Employing an experienced, professional project management team can save a client a great deal of time and money, in addition to the peace of mind gained from knowing the project is being handled efficiently.
Each of the various professionals and trades involved in any given project will have their own perspectives on how the project should proceed. An effective project manager will assess what the client wants, along with the architect’s plans, and consider the options available given the likely cost of construction and market value of the finished product.
At Stockbridge, it is our standard practice to meet clients early on in a project – sometimes before the planning stage – to get an understanding of what they are trying to create and achieve. Then, taking their vision, we bring some emotional detachment to the decision-making process so as to identify and maximise the project’s real value.
The service involves obtaining and evaluating tenders, providing and co-ordinating site facilities and services, while breaking each project into work packages and supervising their execution, as set out in the overall contract.
Where a project manager is already in place, we can also provide a free-standing construction management service which, as the title suggests, focuses exclusively on the building process itself.
This overall service includes:
Providing advice on the brief, where it is still in development
Mapping out a procurement route and developing the construction programme and key performance indicators
Tendering contracts, where appropriate
Advising on appointments, site inspections and, where necessary, the timings and interaction of trade contractors’ work phases
Managing security, access and the statutory services at the site
Contract administration, organising site inspections and issuing certificates
Stockbridge always seeks to manage any technical or planning issues while minimising pricing variations and other risks, to efficiently drive the project to completion on time and within budget.
